Pettina Velez is a self-taught painter and art educator who teaches toddlers and young adults to explore their creativity through visual expression. Working in a range of media—including pencil, pen and ink, watercolor, and her current favorite, acrylics—she believes painting has the power to heal, release tension, and inspire joy. In addition to her studio practice, she is the author and illustrator of three self-published children’s books, including her best-known title Learn Your ABC’s Through Art With Me, which captivates young readers with its vibrant, wordless paintings of animals in the wild. The book encourages interactive learning, allowing parents and caregivers to engage children through observation, sound, and storytelling—making it a favorite among families. Pettina maintains a studio at Art Bias in San Carlos, California, where she leads art and craft classes that nurture imagination, confidence, and creative exploration.
