Looking for an affordable venue for your workshop, rehearsal, performance, or private event? The Center for Creativity (CfC) offers a welcoming, art-filled space for community gatherings. Join our network of artists and arts supporters, and we’ll even help promote your event to our growing community.
Our Facility
The CfC is a 1,200+ sq. ft. creative arts venue located inside the historic Sequoia Hotel on Redwood City’s Broadway pedestrian mall. With two versatile event spaces and six rotating gallery areas, it’s the perfect setting for meetups, classes, performances, and art parties.
Event Reservations
Booking the CfC provides access to the following spaces:
Sequoia Gallery: Situated in the historic rotunda at the building’s entrance, the Sequoia Gallery is a circular room ideal for performances, exhibitions, meetings, and intimate gatherings. The space includes a piano and features a professionally curated art display that extends into the hallway and stairwell.
Eureka Studio: Formerly the hotel’s banquet hall, the Eureka Studio is a flexible space suited for classes, meetings, rehearsals, and performances. The room can be cleared for dance or theater use and includes an industrial sink. A single-occupancy restroom (not wheelchair accessible) is located inside the studio. This space also features a rotating, curated art exhibit.

Food & Drink: Allowed (no kitchen; nearby cafés and restaurants can cater)
Parking: Paid garages within 2 blocks; free unlimited parking within walking distance
Restroom Access: One single-occupancy restroom (inside Eureka Studio, not ADA-compliant). For accessible options, neighboring businesses welcome CfC patrons:
Coffee Bar (7am–6pm): across Broadway via pedestrian walkway
Mazra (6pm–9pm): next door on Broadway
Cleanup Policy: Leave no trace. Hosts are responsible for returning the space to its original condition.
Note: Eureka Studio space can feel warm with more than 30 people.

Pricing & Booking Policy
Hosts must also provide liability insurance. One-day policies are available through providers such as ACT Insurance or Insurance Canopy. Our model keeps upfront costs low, making it easier to host small or experimental events while sustaining the space. Pricing is subject to change for future events.
Reservation Rules
Free community events and workshops may be booked up to two months in advance.
Reservations beyond that window open at the start of each month.
One date may be reserved at a time.

CfC walls are not available for event use. They feature exhibition artwork.

How to Book
Start by filling out our Booking Request Form.
We’ll follow up about availability, pricing, and fit. Tours are available upon request.
To confirm, submit our booking form, payment, and proof of insurance.
Once approved, your event will be added to the CfC calendar and agreements shared for signing.
You may also provide media and details to support CfC event promotion.
Community Events
$10 upfront, non-refundable fee.
Event must be free and open to the public.
(Must be focused on arts and/or creativity)
Workshops & Classes
$10 upfront, non-refundable fee + 20% of gross event revenue.
(Must be focused on arts and/or creativity. 20% of revenue based on tickets, product/food sales, fundraising, donations, post-event sales, etc.)
Private Events
$75 per hour.
Event can be private or open to the public.
Our Galleries
The CfC features six distinct gallery spaces. Exhibitions are typically scheduled for two-month durations and often share opening receptions and timelines.

Start by filling out the booking request form. We’ll follow up with information about availability, cost, and whether the space suits your needs. If it’s a good fit, we’ll schedule a tour (if desired) and send you a detailed booking form. Once we receive the completed form and payment (if applicable), your event will be confirmed and added to our calendar.

Community events, workshops, and classes may be publicized by the CfC via our newsletter, social media, etc.
Venue rentals can be public or private.
Private event rentals are not publicized by the CfC, unless specific arrangements are made.

Not yet. All bookings are subject to approval by the CfC team. Your event is only confirmed once you’ve submitted the full booking form and payment, and you’ve received a confirmation from us.

A CfC team member will:
Open the space and help orient you.
Stay on-site during the event to handle any facility needs.
Be available at the end to ensure the space is clean and locked up.
You’ll be in charge of running your event—we’re just here to support you behind the scenes.

The CfC is still working out the pricing and policy for meetings and Arts related meetups. Until then, our community event and private event rental polices, rates, and processes apply.
It is recommended that you book the CfC for one meeting/meetup before considering the CfC for your regular meeting spot.
