Community Canvas: Student Artists in the Heart of Redwood City
by Cañada College Students
Opening Reception: Fri, Sept 4 | 5pm - 7pm
Closing Reception: Sun, Nov 1 | 3:30pm - 5pm
We are Cañada College students, and this exhibition is a celebration of the creative community grown in our classrooms and taking root in Redwood City for over 50 years.
Across four window bays, we present to you our student work from three of our Career Technical Education programs: Digital Art & Animation, Fashion Design & Merchandising, and Interior Design. Each program is shaped by a shared commitment to creative thinking, the development of technical skills, and the power of design to transform everyday life.
The Digital Art & Animation section features digital paintings, character studies, and storyboards, forming a living collage of film- and gamebased student design.
The Fashion Design & Merchandising section highlights zero-waste fashion including student-designed and fabricated garments, illustrations and donated fabric remnants that document the beauty of sustainable making and community.
Finally, the Interior Design Architectural section features dioramas built by interior design students floating in front of mounted flat student layout plans and color work. A geometric vision of the possibilities for architecture and interior spaces is viewable from all angles.
