By keeping the things most precious to us in safes, we often disengage from them. For centuries, the dominant narrative in the Western environmental conversation has been that humans are separate from nature, whether to justify its exploitation or to highlight its purity as opposed to our greed. But by removing ourselves from nature, we deny ourselves the opportunity to fully address our worsening planetary crisis. Only when we recognize that we are all part of one world will we be able to step into a balanced future.
Look inside Wildsafe. The figures within represent themes that pervade both the natural and the human world. When we consider our many similarities — that we pass knowledge across generations, build mutually beneficial relationships with completely different species, and can adapt and persist despite world-altering change — we see that the line we draw between our worlds is imaginary.
