Benefits for Arts Partners

• Being part of a pilot cohort to shape future policies for CfC
• Priority use of CfC facilities
• Connection with CfC members and the community

The spirit of the Center for Creativity is as a shared community interdisciplinary arts space brought to life through a grassroots spirit of ownership and collaboration. It’s not a standard rental venue; instead, it works together with partners who act as a pilot cohort to help shape policies. This model promotes an accessible space and shared responsibility.

Benefits for Center for Creativity (CfC) and the Arts Community

• Collaboration and insight to build the best possible home for artists and arts organizations to engage with the community together as stated in the CfC mission and values.
• Progress toward our vision of fostering a strong, connected, and vibrant arts community in San Mateo County.
• Activating the temporary “proof of concept” space at Hotel Sequoia to establish the Center for Creativity as an essential community resource.
• Increased CfC offerings of arts programming for the general public to empower individuals to experience, create, and connect.

What’s the difference between Community Partners and Arts Partners?

Community Partners are organizations that support the ideals of the CfC, align with its mission, and contribute their expertise and knowledge to the progress of CfC as they are able. This support comes in many forms: attending community events, speaking with county and city officials, joining the steering committee, donations, and general promotions. We welcome Community Partners to use the CfC facilities for meetings and events.

Arts Partners are non-profit arts organizations or individual artists operating arts programs within San Mateo County who wish to collaborate with the CfC to provide free community arts programming at the new temporary space. In exchange for this programming, Arts Partners may use the space for other uses (rehearsals, studio time, meetings, paid events etc.), schedule events up to 6 months in advance, and become part of the pilot cohort for CfC.
